Position Summary: The Art Therapist plans and implements art therapy for patients and families. Demonstrates commitment to a patient- and family-focused model of care. Plans, initiates, provides, and evaluates art therapy with patients and families. Provides individual, group, and family art therapy at bedside, in playrooms, and other locations as appropriate. Adapts art therapy interventions to suit patients' needs and abilities based on treatment goals. Provides developmentally-appropriate and culturally-sensitive therapeutic services. Provides clinical art therapy supervision for art therapy students and trainees as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: 2+ years of art therapy experience in inpatient or outpatient setting working with children and families. Experience in medical setting preferred. Education/Licensure/Certification: Master’s degree in Art Therapy from a school accredited by AATA Education Program Approval Board or equivalent required. ATR (Registered Art Therapist) or ATR-BC (Board-Certified Art Therapist) required. Current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider CPR certification. Pay Scale Information: USD $44,304.00 - USD $76,544.00. CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
