Job Description

Our client, a general contractor with over 40 years of experience , has built a strong reputation delivering notable commercial projects throughout New England . We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator with 4 to 10 years of experience in commercial construction to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for various projects, ensuring competitive and profitable bids. Experience in life science projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to develop detailed cost estimates.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure accurate estimates.
• Solicit and review subcontractor and supplier bids for accuracy and competitiveness.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and project requirements.
• Prepare bid proposals, budgets, and cost reports for projects.
• Assist in value engineering and alternative cost solutions.
• Stay current with industry pricing trends, market conditions, and construction methodologies.
• Maintain and update estimating databases and historical cost records.

Qualifications

• 4 to 10 years of experience in commercial construction estimating .
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost structures.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as OST, Bluebeam, ProEst, or similar tools .
• Experience with life science projects is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
