divh2Facilities Maintenance Support/h2pThe primary purpose of this position is to provide facilities maintenance support through the performance of general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, irrigation systems, and electrical work./ppEssential duties include:/pulliInstall, maintain and service irrigation systems./liliPerform regular system maintenance, including starting up systems for use in warmer months./liliInspecting and repairing sprinkler heads, pipes and other components./liliWinterizing systems to prevent damage during freezing weather./liliMaintaining detailed records of maintenance activities and completed work orders./liliAssisting with snow removal on all sidewalks, utilizing snow shovels, small equipment with plows; following with the application of Ice Melt./liliLoading and unloading trucks, and other conveyances./liliMoving supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrow or hand trucks./liliDigging, filling and tamping earth excavations./liliLeveling ground using pick, shovel, tamper, and rake./liliShoveling concrete, soil, and asphalt./liliCleaning culverts and ditches./liliCutting trees and brush./liliCuttings vegetation, using walking-type or riding mowers (less than 2000 lbs)./liliOperating power tools such as lawnmowers, weed eaters, edgers, blowers, drills, air hammers, earth tampers, generators, air compressors, sump pumps, concrete saws, routers, etc./liliTrimming hedges and edging around walks, flowerbeds, and wells, using hedge trimmers, clippers, and edging tools./liliPruning shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth using shears and other hand tools./liliPlanting grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs./liliWatering lawn and shrubs during dry periods using hose or activating sprinkler systems./liliPicking up and carting away leaves, paper, or other litter./liliSpreading concrete and asphalt on concrete and paving jobs using the appropriate hand tools for the job./liliCleaning hand tools, machinery, and work area./liliSpreading sand and salt on icy roads and walkways./liliResponsible for timely reporting of accidents, injuries, and hazardous situations./liliPerforming all other work-related duties as assigned./li/ulpSupervisory responsibilities: none/ppDesired knowledge, skills abilities include:/pulliAdvanced knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions./liliAbility to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted./liliAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals./liliExcellent interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff./liliMust be trustworthy./liliEffective oral and technical written communication skills to communicate complex information effectively and clearly in high pressure, emergency situations to others./liliAbility to follow a process./liliStrong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up./liliAbility to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to Tunistas goals./liliAbility to perform basic mathematical computations, detect unobvious facts and issues, and exercise resourcefulness in resolving problems./liliAbility to multi-task./li/ulpRequired qualifications include:/pulliMust have a High School Diploma or Equivalent./liliMinimum of 3 years experience./liliValid Drivers License./liliAbility to pass a drug and background screening./liliMust be able to pass Government background check./li/ulpPreference will be given to Calista shareholders and their descendants and to spouses of Calista shareholders, and to shareholders of other corporations created pursuant to the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, in accordance with Title 43 U.S. Code 1626(g)./ppEEO STATEMENT: Additionally, it is our policy to select, place, train and promote the most qualified individuals based upon relevant factors such as work quality, attitude and experience, so as to provide equal employment opportunity for all employees in compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws and without regard to non-work related factors such as race, color, religion/creed, sex, national origin, age, disability, marital status, veteran status, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, citizenship, genetic information, or other protected status.
