INDIRECT BUYER - Russell Springs, Kentucky
Your tasks
• Market analysis and benchmarking, completing bid comparisons, processing orders.
• Selection of high-quality suppliers to develop long-term strategic partnerships to reduce the number of suppliers in the existing base.
• Follow established procurement process and identify opportunities to improve supply base and overall budgeted operational costs.
• Identify synergy potentials within responsible Commodity and with other Motherson companies where applicable.
• Preparation of purchasing strategies after consultation with specialist departments.
• Lead negotiations on supplier contracts and agreements.
• Identify and mitigate supplier risks to Operations.
• Preparation/completion of the necessary contract documents.
• Awarding contracts, in accordance with existing corporate policies.
• Data mining and ad hoc analysis to support strong development of supplier strategies.
• Development and maintenance of supplier relationships.
• Processing of complaints from escalation level.
• Initiation and monitoring of supplier development measures and performance.
• Commitment to achieving the savings targets and responsible for the corresponding continuous improvement programs in the context of purchasing goals.
• Lead meetings (internal/external) to obtain required information to drive and track the status of projects to support cost improvement and plant efficiencies.
Your Profile
• Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar role within supply chain management.
• 3+ years' experience in Automotive manufacturing
• 3+ years' experience in Plastic Injection Molding
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, materials management, and logistics.
• Experience with RFQ, RAS, PRs and PO management
• Familiarity with MRP systems; experience with SAP is highly desirable.
• Excellent negotiation skills with a focus on achieving favorable pricing agreements.
• Ability to analyze data effectively to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple priorities.
• Strong time management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ecommerce platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
