The County of San Diego is seeking qualified candidates for
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ANALYST Interviews will take place beginning the week of July 28th and August 4th, 2025, and job offers will be made the week after.
The Departments of Environmental Health and Quality, Library, Public Defender, and Public Health and Information Technology Services within the Health & Human Services Agency have current vacancies; however, this list may be used for vacancies in other County of San Diego departments.
Information Technology Analysts perform complex professional duties related to business applications monitoring, analysis, and development. This is a journey-level professional class in the Information Technology series. Responsibilities may include leading projects, acting as department lead or project manager on County IT initiatives, analyzing and managing IT budgets and contracts, and developing project plans and system tests for new or existing systems.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will be able to perform complex business applications analysis and development duties, translate business requirements into system deployments, coordinate application development, and maintain and administer software solutions.

Pre-employment medical screening occurs approximately 3 days after a successful background check.
The start date will be based on the completion of medical screening or a mutually agreed date.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field from an accredited college or university;
Two (2) years as an Information Technology Specialist with the County of San Diego; or
Two (2) years of IT experience in business systems analysis or application development.
Note: Additional experience or coursework may substitute for the education/experience requirements on a year-for-year basis.

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

Applicants will be placed on a six-month employment list based on evaluation scores from their applications.
