Are you an experienced Certified Professional Coder (CPC) looking for your next opportunity?

One of our clients, a highly regarded healthcare organization in Anchorage, is seeking a Medical Coding Specialist to join their team. This is a full-time, in-office position (not remote).

Role Overview

As a Medical Coding Specialist, you’ll play a key role in ensuring coding accuracy, compliance, and clean claim submissions in a busy, collaborative healthcare environment. You will work closely with providers, billing, and coding teams to support high-quality patient care through precise documentation and coding practices.

What You’ll Do

  • Assign accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes and modifiers.
  • Ensure compliance with payer guidelines and medical necessity requirements.
  • Submit clean claims and prepare appeals for coding denials.
  • Collaborate with providers, clinical, and billing staff to resolve coding issues.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in a high-volume environment.

What We’re Looking For

  • Active AAPC CPC certification (required).
  • Minimum 2 years of medical coding experience.
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and Microsoft Office.

Compensation

$25–$36 per hour, depending on experience and education.

Location

Anchorage, Alaska ( on-site, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm ).
