Proofreader Position Overview:

The role of Proofreader involves ensuring the accuracy of private label packaging by cross-referencing label designs with client information and upholding brand guidelines. This position demands exceptional proofreading abilities, a strong grasp of AP Style, and effective communication and teamwork skills to meet project deadlines. Located onsite in Bentonville, AR, this role supports quality assurance for a Fortune 100 client within a data-centric marketing and manufacturing environment.

We are currently looking for an entry-level onsite Proofreader to ensure the utmost accuracy of private label packaging for a Fortune 100 client in Bentonville, AR. The Proofreader will manage the workflow of projects, ensuring they progress smoothly from one stage to the next. This role requires collaboration with the client to coordinate project timelines and deliverables. Additionally, the Proofreader should possess the ability to read, interpret, and utilize client data effectively.

This position is based onsite in Bentonville, AR.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide daily support to the private brands packaging team of the client.
• Compare label designs with internal databases to ensure accuracy.
• Verify adherence to the client’s brand and corporate standards.
• Check for correct spelling and grammar.
• Edit text for improved clarity and coherence.
• Adjust formatting for better readability.
• Ensure appropriate word choices are made in specific contexts.
• Engage with team members and the client regularly to maintain consistency.
• Utilize Excel for daily updates to reports and spreadsheets as required.
• Adapt to prioritize urgent tasks to meet product timelines effectively.
• Oversee quality control in collaboration with the Private Brands Team.
• Exhibit strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English or Journalism; relevant education and/or experience may be considered as a substitute.
• Thorough understanding of AP Style.
• Exceptional grammar and proofreading capabilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and issues simultaneously, prioritizing effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
