Position Overview
The hostess is the first and last point of contact for guests, setting the tone for their dining experience. This role requires a polished, professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, and a passion for hospitality. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, and thrives in a high-energy, fine-dining environment.
Responsibilities
• Warmly greet and welcome guests upon arrival with a professional, gracious attitude.
• Manage reservations, seating, and guest flow to ensure efficient service.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the host stand and entrance area.
• Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and management about guest needs and special requests.
• Anticipate guest needs and ensure every visitor feels valued and cared for.
• Answer phones, confirm reservations, and assist with inquiries about the restaurant.
• Thank guests upon departure and invite them to return.
Qualifications
• Previous experience in fine dining or upscale hospitality preferred.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude at all times.
• Familiarity with reservation platforms such as OpenTable is a plus.
