Lab TA’s will assist the instructor in the proper functioning of the lab during the session and help students follow proper techniques and safety rules while conducting experiments. TA’s must be proactive in the lab and model proper laboratory safety at all times, including wearing the proper protective equipment: lab coats, goggles and proper clothing and shoes. This position may be extended to the January and Spring 2025 semester after evaluation by the lab coordinator on performance in the lab. Minimum Qualifications Successful completion of CHEM 201/202, respective of the section you want to TA for, with a grade of B- or better. Mandatory attendance at the weekly lab meetings. Committed to working both Fall and Spring semesters for a minimum of 10 hours/week. Must be a current University of La Verne student Preferred Qualifications Recommendation from a Chemistry instructor Driven and takes initiative Ability to communicate effectively Basic knowledge of Excel Dependable, reliable, and self-sufficient Work Schedule Position could start as early as the week of August 11th for any needed trainings. Fall 2025 lab sections, which meet beginning 8/25/25, are as follows: Monday 6:00 – 10:10P Tuesday 1:10 – 5:20P Tuesday 6:00 – 10:10P Wed 1:10 – 5:20P Wed 6:00 – 10:10P Thu 1:10 – 5:20P Fri 1:10 – 5:20P Fri6:00 – 10:10P Mandatory Weekly Lab Meeting (Day and Time to be decided) This position will work 100% on campus.
