About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Compliance/Chief Compliance Officer to lead and oversee its comprehensive compliance program. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring adherence to federal and state laws, regulations, and internal policies, as well as identifying and addressing high-risk areas within the institution. This role involves providing guidance, support, and coordination across the university to foster a culture of compliance. The VP/CCO will also be tasked with assessing the effectiveness of compliance efforts, reporting to the President and the Board of Trustees, and maintaining the integrity of the compliance program through impartial and independent activities. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years' of progressive experience in compliance, risk management, and legal areas, with a preference for those holding a Master's or Juris Doctorate degree. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to manage confidential information with discretion. The VP/CCO will be expected to work closely with various university units, IT, and legal departments to ensure robust data privacy and cybersecurity policies. Experience in higher education or an academic medical center is a plus. The position demands a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating compliance risks, as well as the ability to lead a team in the development and implementation of effective compliance programs.
