Title: Art Therapist (Director of Recreation) Job Duties The Art Therapist creates and leads the recreational program with activities, hobby and interest building, physical activities, and events throughout the year. Recreation is a facet of the holistic wellness model, which also includes behavioral skill building, medication support, dietary teaching, and pre-vocational training. The goal is to help clients create lives worth living and achieve independence in the community. Schedule Full Time Qualifications Must have a bachelor’s degree as an occupational therapist, music therapist, dance therapist, art therapist, or recreation therapist. Must be registered or eligible for registration as an occupational therapist, music therapist, dance therapist, art therapist, or recreation therapist. Must have a valid California driver’s license. Preference for current CPR certification. Two (2) years of experience in a social or recreational program within the past five (5) years, including one year full-time in a client activities program in a healthcare setting. Programs support each client’s recovery journey with strengths-based, self-determined goals, effective tools and problem-solving strategies, and a focus on meaningful roles, spirituality, hope, and empowerment. Pay Range: $35 - $45 USD per hour. Final salary will be based on skills, experience, licensure, and program acuity.
